personality types
friendly and mischievous. If you have outdoor animals who start
to act out of the ordinary, a garden with signs that suddenly move on
their own, there are pixies around. They are spirits of
fun. They make wonderful playmates for children, but are also the
cause of children misbehaving. They don't act maliciously, the
just can't see that their fun hurts others.
dress style
Pixies don't wear clothes.
powers
As the pixie's personality shows, their power is in practical
jokes. Despite their tiny size, They can lift very heavy objects
on their own. Harnessing their powers to help farm is the pastime
of many farmers.
home/family
Pixies don't have families. They are solitary or live in groups
of 2 or 3. They live anywhere but mountains, deserts, or
water. They have no homes and when they sleep they simply curl up
in a flower or leaf. They will borrow abandoned nests or storage
rooms to collect pretty things.
Eating habits
Pixies like sweet food. They eat plant nectar and sap, especially
enjoying it when larger folk make maple syrup. They like fruit
and fresh cream, and they even enjoy freshly baked bread on
occassion. Their most common drink is morning dew. They eat
whenever they get hungry or can steal some food.
Social Structure
As they are solitary creatures, there is little social structure among
pixies. When living in small groups, one will inevitably
establish itself as the ringleader. This is not an acknowledged
position and can change as quickly as another pixie joins the group or
leaves it. Pixies enjoy playing jokes on elementals and
fairies. Fairies are their favorite targets because fairies are
very serious about their business. The two groups do not get
along.
religion
Pixies have no religion.
taboo
Dues to lack of real social structure, Pixies have no set taboo.
law
Dues to lack of real social structure, Pixies have no set law.
language
Pixies speak the language of those they interact with the most.
While they will adopt language peculiarities they are exposed to, they
seem to find any language humorous, and almost everything they say is
punctuated by laughter.
Naming
Pixies have a personally chosen name that they set great store
by. It's a secret that others rarely hear, if ever. They
will also choose a secondary name that others can call them, often a
plant type.
Arts, music, and literature
Pixies don't have a written language or written art. They sing
songs of nature, time, and change.
Education and play
Pixies don't educate each other, and most of their time is spent in
play. This play comes in all kinds, mostly physical games like
chases, or hiding games.
Economy
As a solitary people, Pixies have no economy.
relationship with outsiders
Pixies are fascinated by larger folk. They have an antagonistic
relationship with fairies.
companions
Some types of small mammals or birds.
transportation
Pixies fly or dance or skip.
medicine
Pixies don't really practice medicine. If a member of a small
group gets hurt, the others will bring it to larger folk to be fixed,
but otherwise, if they get hurt they die.
Differences
Pixies with disabilities rarely live long with no community to support
them. Twin pixies live together as part of one being.
manners
Pixies will pick up the manners of those
around them, but more in a mocking manner than sincerely.
sex/reproduction
Pixies engage in casual sex with members of their groups. They
have children in groups of three every other year from ages two to
eighteen. The children are independant from birth.
Gestation is around a month.
